Fabric Sourcing in Vietnam — Material Selection Built Into Every Production Order.
The right fabric is the foundation of every successful garment. Our Vietnam production team sources, quality-checks, and approves all fabrics before a single piece is cut — giving US and EU brands access to premium materials without the sourcing overhead.

Every fabric lot QC-checked before cutting
Most quality problems in garment manufacturing don't start at the sewing machine — they start at the fabric stage. Wrong weight, inconsistent color, poor stretch recovery, fabric shrinkage after wash — these are issues that cannot be fixed after production. They have to be caught before cutting begins.
Why fabric sourcing is the most important decision in your production ?
For US and EU brands working with overseas manufacturers, fabric sourcing is also the least visible part of the supply chain. Many brands don't know what fabric their manufacturer is actually using — and don't find out until the goods arrive.
At Agile Apparel Source, fabric sourcing is fully integrated into our production process:
— We source all fabrics directly — you do not source separately and ship to us
— Every fabric lot goes through incoming inspection before cutting begins
— Physical swatches are sent to you for approval before we commit to production
— Fabric origin is documented for EVFTA compliance on every EU order
— We advise on fabric selection based on your product category, target price point, and performance requirements
The result: no fabric surprises at your warehouse. Every garment matches the approved swatch — in weight, hand feel, color, and construction.

Our Fabric QC Process
How we quality-check every fabric before production
Swatch Approval
Before committing to any fabric lot, we send physical swatches to you for hand feel, color, and weight approval. Production does not begin until you confirm the swatch meets your standard.
Incoming Fabric Inspection
When the fabric lot arrives at our facility, our QC team conducts an incoming inspection: weight verification (GSM check), color consistency across the roll, defect scanning, and shrinkage pre-testing. Fabric that fails inspection is rejected and re-sourced.
Pre-Production Wash Test
For fabrics requiring wash finishing — garment dye, enzyme wash, stone wash — we conduct a pre-production wash test on a fabric sample to confirm shrinkage rate and color result before the full lot is processed.
Inline Fabric Monitoring
During cutting and sewing, our QC team monitors for any fabric inconsistencies that emerge during production — shade variation between rolls, tension issues, or unexpected stretch behavior. Issues are flagged and resolved before they affect the full production run.

Fabric Sourcing for EU Brands — EVFTA Rules of Origin
For EU brands importing from Vietnam under the EVFTA 0% preferential duty rate, fabric origin matters.
How we handle this for EU orders:
-
—
We source fabrics from Vietnamese mills and EVFTA-qualifying countries by default for EU orders
-
—
Fabric origin is documented at the sourcing stage
-
—
We prepare the EUR.1 Certificate of Origin with full fabric traceability
-
—
If EVFTA-compliant fabric is not available for your specific requirement, we advise you at the quote stage before production begins
The EVFTA "double transformation" rule requires that:
The fabric is woven or knitted in Vietnam or a qualifying country
The garment is cut and sewn in Vietnam
This means: fabric sourced from China and sewn in Vietnam does NOT qualify for EVFTA preferential rates.
The result: your EU shipments arrive with the documentation your customs broker needs to apply 0% duty — no surprises at the border.
How fabric sourcing fits into your production order
How Fabric Sourcing Works in Your Order
In your design brief or tech pack, include fabric direction: weight, fiber content, hand feel reference, or performance requirements. If you have a reference fabric, describe it or send a swatch.
Share Your Requirements
Our team identifies fabric options matching your requirements from our supplier network. For EU orders, we default to EVFTA-qualifying origins.
We Source Options
We send physical swatches to your address for hand feel, color, and weight confirmation. You select and approve before we commit to the production lot.
Swatches Sent for Approval
Approved fabric arrives at our facility. Our QC team conducts full incoming inspection — weight, color consistency, defect check — before cutting begins.
Incoming Inspection
All fabric used in your order is documented — mill name, origin, fiber content, and GSM. This documentation is available to you on request and forms the basis of your EUR.1 Certificate of Origin for EU shipments.

Why brands trust our fabric sourcing
Three reasons to partner with us
No Fabric Surprises
We send swatches before production and inspect every incoming lot. The fabric in your finished garment matches the swatch you approved — in weight, hand feel, and color. If it doesn't pass inspection, it doesn't go into production.
EVFTA-Compliant Sourcing for EU Brands
For EU orders, we source from qualifying-origin mills by default and document the full fabric supply chain. Your EUR.1 C/O is prepared with complete traceability — giving you the 0% EVFTA duty benefit on every shipment.
Full Fabric Transparency on Request
Mill name, fabric origin, fiber content, and GSM documentation are available for every order on request. For brands with sustainability reporting or supply chain due diligence requirements, we provide the fabric-level traceability you need.
